The same vet, as often as we can manage it

A four-vet practice for dogs, cats and small pets. We keep sick appointments free every morning, we tell you what things cost before we do them, and we try hard to book you with whoever saw your animal last.

  • Same-day appointments kept back for unwell animals
  • An estimate in writing before any procedure
  • A separate cat waiting room, away from the dogs

What we do

Everything described here is an example. Replace it with what your practice actually offers, and remove anything it does not.

Consultations

Fifteen minutes as standard, half an hour if you book a long appointment. Bring a list — people always forget one thing.

Vaccination & prevention

Annual boosters, worming and flea treatment, with reminders by text so you do not have to remember.

Neutering & routine surgery

Day procedures with a written estimate first and a phone call the moment your animal is awake.

Dentistry

Scale, polish and extractions under anaesthetic. The most commonly put-off thing we do, and the one that changes an old dog most.

Diagnostics

X-ray, ultrasound and in-house bloods, so most results come back the same visit rather than next week.

End of life

At the practice or at home, with as much time as you need and no waiting room afterwards. Ring and we will talk it through.

Who you'll see

Ask for whoever saw your animal last and we will do our best. Continuity matters more in veterinary medicine than almost anywhere.

Dr Anya Reed

Veterinary surgeon

Founded the practice in 2009. Soft tissue surgery and anything geriatric. Owns two elderly lurchers.

Dr Samuel Okafor

Veterinary surgeon

Dentistry and imaging. The one who will actually show you the X-ray and explain what you are looking at.

Priya Raman

Head nurse

Runs the nurse clinics — weight, dental checks, post-op and anything that does not need a vet. Often free.

Mel Hartley

Practice manager

Takes the difficult phone calls, sorts insurance claims, and will tell you honestly whether something can wait.

What it costs

Published, because nobody wants to ask. Every figure is an example — replace them, and never advertise a price the practice will not honour.

Surgery is always quoted in writing first. Nothing above includes medication.

Paying for it

We are an independent practice, so we are straight about this.

Insurance

We are happy to claim directly for procedures over $400 once the insurer confirms cover. Smaller claims you pay and reclaim.

Payment plans

For anything over $600 we can spread it over three months with no interest. Ask Mel before the procedure, not after.

If money is the problem

Tell us. There is almost always a cheaper way to approach a problem, and we would rather discuss it than have you not come in.

Out of hoursAlways answered

Sick-animal appointments are held back each morning and released at 8:30. If you are worried, ring — do not wait for an online slot.

How an appointment goes

Ring or send the form

The form is for routine visits. For an unwell animal, phone us.

We confirm by text

With the vet's name, so you know who you are seeing.

You get an estimate first

Before anything beyond the consultation, in writing, and we wait for your yes.

What clients say

Only ever real reviews, copied word for word, and with permission if they mention a specific animal. Otherwise delete this section.

“They fitted our cat in the same morning and rang twice that afternoon to tell us how she was doing.”

Dani R., Netherfield

“Dr Okafor put the X-ray on the screen and talked me through it for ten minutes. No other vet has ever done that.”

Peter M.

“They were honest that the expensive option would not have helped him. We will not go anywhere else.”

Questions we get asked

My animal is unwell today. What do I do?

Phone us rather than using the form. We hold appointments back every morning for exactly this, and outside opening hours the number at the top of this page is answered day and night.

Can I always see the same vet?

We try hard and usually manage it for routine visits. For an emergency you will see whoever is free fastest, which is the right trade.

Do you treat rabbits and small pets?

Yes — rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets and rodents. We do not see birds or reptiles, and we will point you to a practice that does.

Will you tell me the cost before you do it?

Always, in writing, for anything beyond the consultation itself. If something unexpected comes up mid-procedure we stop and ring you.

Are you taking new clients?

Yes. Bring or forward any history from your previous practice if you can — it saves repeating tests your animal has already had.
